The Guru (Fund Manager) FAQ
What can I do to make my fund more attractive to new users?
Add as much information and detail about yourself and to your fund as possible. This includes adding a banner and a fund logo, a description on what your fund and trading style is, and links to any socials related to you. Additionally, you may want to give your own profile a profile picture, description, and a twitter verification so that users can be sure that you are authenticated with the associated socials account.
What happens when a user enters and exits my fund?
When a user deposits ETH into your fund, that ETH is distributed to all of the assets in the fund and buys the charts of each token. In exchange, they are minted the fund tokens which represent their share ownership of the fund.
Similarly, when a user exits the fund, they will liquidate their % portion of the fund across all fund assets proportionate to their weight in the fund, and their fund tokens will be burnt. The only exception is if the buy on any of the tokens does not increase the TVL for that particular asset by more than 3%, then the ETH for that purchase will be added to the fund instead as WETH.
Buys that do not increase the token allocation value by more than 3% are not executed, and instead the ETH for those token purchases are added to the fund as WETH. This is to keep the deposit transactions as efficient as possible.
How can a user withdraw their allocation from my fund?
A user holding your fund token must click “withdraw”, which prompts them to send their fund tokens back in to get burnt, in exchange for their share of the TVL.
Can I move tokens out of the fund as the Guru?
No, the only functions you have access to as the Guru are depositing assets, trading assets, and closing the fund.
How is the token price calculated?
All funds are created with a starting price of 1$. The token price increases as the assets in the fund increase in value, irrespective of fund TVL.
For example, if a fund has a TVL of $1000, and a new investor enters with another $1000, but the assets did not increase or decrease in value, then the TVL is now $2000 but the token price is still $1. If asset increase in value by 50%, then the token price will be $1.50 and the TVL will be $3000.
Can I manually add ERC20 tokens to the fund?
Yes, you can simply select any ERC20 token to deposit into the fund in the deposit form. Instead of distributing WETH to all assets in the fund, it will simply add those ERC20 tokens to the fund’s assets/holdings.
What is the withdrawal cooldown?
The withdrawal cooldown is the time an investor needs to wait in order to withdraw their allocation. Each cooldown is treated separately, per swap.
If you update the cooldown, it only affects new users who enter the fund.
How do I top my fund up with more ETH?
Simply deposit more Wrapped ETH into the fund. Depositing ETH distributes it to all assets in the fund, while depositing WETH counts as an ERC20 deposit and it won’t distribute it.
Can I close deposits for my fund, but keep trading open?
If you want to limit deposits on your fund, you can update the minimum deposit to a very high value ($100b+), that can only get filled by Elon. In the future, we will handle this more elegantly, so you can continue trading once you feel your fund has reached a target you have set.
